ABOUT THE ROLE

Yelo Aple is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Plant Order Fulfillment Specialist to help us safely and accurately prepare and ship live plants to customers across the United States.

This is an important role within our store because our customers are trusting us to select, prepare, and package live plants that may be traveling across the country — including shipments to Alaska and Hawaii.

Orders come through both our TikTok Shop and website, and your primary responsibility will be making sure those orders are picked correctly, prepared carefully, packaged securely, and ready to make it safely to the customer.

This is a hands-on position. You'll be working with plants, boxes, packing materials, shipping labels, inventory, printers, and our order systems throughout the day.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in doing things correctly and understands that accuracy matters just as much as speed.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Plant Order Fulfillment

  • Pick plants and products from inventory based on customer orders from our website and TikTok Shop.

  • Carefully inspect plants before they are packed to make sure the correct plant is being shipped and that it is in appropriate condition for the customer.

  • Wrap and prepare live plants for shipping using Yelo Aple's packing methods.

  • Safely package plants, pots, accessories, and other products so they are protected during transportation.

  • Verify orders carefully before sealing boxes to prevent incorrect or missing items.

  • Print and apply shipping labels and other necessary documentation.

  • Prepare completed orders for USPS pickup/drop-off.

  • Help ensure orders are processed in a timely manner Monday–Saturday.

  • Communicate with store staff when there is an issue with an order, inventory, plant condition, or shipping label rather than guessing.

Accuracy & Quality Control

  • Double-check every order before it leaves the store.

  • Make sure the plant, pot, accessories, quantity, and shipping label all match the customer's order.

  • Pay attention to special instructions and shipping requirements.

  • Help prevent order mix-ups, missing items, damaged plants, and incorrect shipments.

  • Handle plants carefully throughout the fulfillment process.

  • Follow established packing procedures consistently.

The goal is simple: the customer should receive the plant they ordered, packaged properly and in the best condition possible.

Inventory

  • Assist with regular plant and product inventory counts.

  • Help keep inventory organized and accurately reflected in our systems.

  • Restock plants and products throughout the store as needed.

  • Identify inventory discrepancies and bring them to a supervisor's attention.

  • Help keep the fulfillment and inventory areas clean, organized, and easy to work in.

Plant Photography & Content

As part of this position, you'll also help us photograph plants and products for our online platforms.

You do not need to be a professional photographer.

We simply need someone who can take clear, attractive photos of plants using a phone or basic camera setup. These photos may be used for:

  • Our website

  • TikTok Shop

  • TikTok and social media

  • DoorDash

  • Product listings and promotional materials

You may also occasionally help photograph new arrivals, interesting plants, or products for content.

Shipping & Store Support

  • Prepare outgoing packages for USPS.

  • Assist with receiving incoming plant shipments.

  • Help unload, organize, and inspect incoming plants and products.

  • Assist with general store organization when fulfillment tasks are caught up.

  • Help keep work areas clean and safe.

  • Work with store staff to identify ways to make the fulfillment process faster, easier, and more accurate.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Comfortable using computers, printers, and basic order/shipping systems.

  • Willing to ask questions when something is unclear.

  • Comfortable doing repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy.

  • Able to safely lift and move boxes, plants, and supplies.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.

  • Willing to learn our specific plant handling and packing processes.

EXPERIENCE

Previous experience in shipping, order fulfillment, e-commerce, retail, inventory, warehouse work, plant care, or customer service is helpful but not necessarily required.

What matters most is that you are:

Reliable. Careful. Organized. Common-sense driven. And willing to learn.

If you have never shipped live plants before, that's okay. We can teach you our specific packing process.

What we cannot easily teach is caring about whether the order you just packed is actually correct.

SCHEDULE

This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule.

We currently ship orders Monday–Saturday, so we're looking for someone who can work a consistent schedule that makes sense for both the employee and the needs of the store.

We have some flexibility with scheduling and are open to discussing what days and hours work best for you.

However, because online orders need to be fulfilled consistently, your schedule must allow us to keep orders moving and ensure that plants are shipped within the appropriate timeframe.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW

This is not simply a packing-and-shipping job.

You will be working with live plants, and the way an order is handled can directly affect whether that plant arrives safely to a customer.

We ship plants throughout the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. That means attention to detail, careful plant handling, and secure packaging are extremely important.

A successful fulfillment specialist understands that:

The wrong plant shipped perfectly is still the wrong order.

The right plant packed carelessly is still a problem.

We need someone who can do both — get the order right and get the plant there safely.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is a hands-on retail/fulfillment position.

You should be comfortable:

  • Standing and moving around for extended periods.

  • Bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying plants and boxes.

  • Moving inventory and shipping supplies.

  • Working around soil, water, plants, boxes, and packing materials.

  • Repeatedly packing and preparing orders throughout a shift.
