ABOUT THE ROLE

YELO APLE is looking for a confident, engaging, plant-knowledgeable individual to host TikTok LIVE shopping sessions and sell indoor plants directly to customers online.

This is a dedicated live-selling position. Your primary responsibility will be representing YELO APLE on camera, showcasing our plants, educating viewers, answering questions, interacting with customers, and generating sales through TikTok LIVE.

Going LIVE is a required part of every shift. Employees must be prepared to host TikTok LIVE sessions for a minimum of TWO HOURS during every scheduled shift. This is a non-negotiable requirement of the position and an essential part of the job.

TikTok LIVE is one of YELO APLE's primary sales channels and a significant source of our business revenue. We rely on consistent, engaging live-shopping sessions to connect with customers, showcase our inventory, and generate sales.

We are not looking for someone who simply enjoys being around plants. We need someone who is comfortable being on camera, enjoys talking to people, understands indoor plants, and can confidently sell products in a live environment.

You should be able to keep a conversation flowing, respond naturally to questions, maintain viewer engagement, and encourage customers to make purchases without needing a script for every interaction.

IMPORTANT: LIVE STREAMING IS REQUIRED EVERY SHIFT

Before applying, please understand the following expectations:

  • You are required to go LIVE during every scheduled shift.

  • Each shift must include a minimum of TWO HOURS of TikTok LIVE streaming.

  • The two-hour minimum is mandatory, not optional.

  • You must be comfortable being on camera and actively engaging with viewers.

  • You must be able to talk continuously, answer questions, showcase products, and promote sales throughout your live sessions.

  • You are expected to maintain a consistent and professional on-camera presence.

  • You must be comfortable with the fact that your performance directly contributes to our online sales.

This is not a position where you occasionally appear on social media or help with content when needed. Hosting TikTok LIVE shopping sessions is the primary responsibility of this role.

EQUIPMENT PROVIDED

YELO APLE will provide the equipment necessary to perform this job.

We have streaming devices, microphones, tripods, ring lights, and other equipment available for employees to use.

You will not need to provide your own phone, camera, microphone, tripod, ring light, or other streaming electronics.

We simply need someone who brings the personality, plant knowledge, communication skills, and confidence to represent our brand.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

TikTok LIVE Hosting & Sales

  • Host TikTok LIVE shopping sessions during every scheduled shift for a minimum of two hours.

  • Showcase available indoor plants, products, and new arrivals.

  • Introduce plants by name and discuss their unique characteristics.

  • Explain plant care requirements, including lighting, watering, humidity, and general maintenance.

  • Answer viewer questions accurately and confidently.

  • Interact with viewers, acknowledge comments, and create an inviting shopping environment.

  • Encourage viewers to purchase featured plants and products.

  • Highlight product features, pricing, promotions, and special offers.

  • Use TikTok LIVE shopping features and product links to help customers complete purchases.

  • Keep viewers engaged and maintain an energetic, conversational atmosphere.

  • Recognize opportunities to introduce additional products and increase sales.

  • Communicate customer feedback, frequently asked questions, and product requests to management.

Plant Knowledge & Customer Education

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of common indoor plants and their care requirements.

  • Correctly identify plants being showcased.

  • Provide accurate information about lighting, watering, growth habits, and general plant maintenance.

  • Make appropriate plant recommendations based on customers' needs and experience levels.

  • Explain differences between plant varieties when customers are deciding what to purchase.

  • Stay informed about new arrivals, current inventory, and featured products.

You should already have a working knowledge of indoor plants before applying. We are not looking to teach someone basic plant identification or introductory plant care. We need someone who can confidently educate customers while selling.

Sales & Performance

  • Help increase sales through engaging and informative live-shopping sessions.

  • Learn which products are available and prioritize showcasing inventory.

  • Communicate promotions and special offers.

  • Develop an understanding of what engages viewers and encourages purchases.

  • Maintain a welcoming environment that encourages repeat customers.

  • Work toward improving live-selling performance and customer engagement.

  • Represent YELO APLE professionally during every broadcast.

WHAT THIS POSITION DOES NOT INVOLVE

This position is specifically focused on TikTok LIVE hosting and online sales.

Your primary responsibility is to host live sessions, showcase plants, interact with viewers, educate customers, and generate sales.

You will not be responsible for routine store operations, processing shipments, general inventory management, stocking shelves, or unrelated retail duties as part of your regular responsibilities.

  • A strong communicator: Can explain information clearly and keep conversations flowing.

  • Reliable: Shows up on time and follows through with scheduled live sessions.

  • Consistent: Understands the importance of going LIVE every shift and meeting the two-hour minimum.

  • Adaptable: Comfortable learning TikTok LIVE shopping features and adjusting to audience engagement.

  • Professional: Can represent YELO APLE positively and interact respectfully with customers.

Previous experience with TikTok LIVE, live shopping, social media hosting, retail sales, or on-camera content creation is a plus.

However, existing plant knowledge, communication skills, camera confidence, and a willingness to sell are essential.

SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY

This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling.

Live sessions will take place in person at our Columbus store. We are open to discussing scheduling preferences and identifying days and times that work for both the employee and the business.

However, flexibility does not eliminate the live-streaming requirement.

Every scheduled shift must include a minimum of TWO HOURS of TikTok LIVE hosting.

Because consistency is important for building an audience and generating sales, we are looking for someone who can commit to a dependable schedule and consistently show up ready to host.

PAY

The pay range is $15–$17 per hour, depending on experience, plant knowledge, live-selling abilities, and qualifications.
